Lane on…The Situation

GBQ Redbank Advisors are announced that they are willing to pay up to $50 to have The Situation wear its branded underwear in an episode of Jersey Shore in which he would bear his abs and expose the waist band of its new luxury line of flannel men’s boxers.  “In what, we are sure, will be a bold and provocative move in the emerging profitable growth fashion scene, we are confident this will be a margin free move”, says Jim Lane, head of GBQ Redbank Advisors.

“We believe with the confusion in the European financial markets there will be an absolute explosion in interest in profitable growth”, said Lane.  Lane continued, “While profitable growth has fallen out of favor in recent years we see resurgence in interest in this type of growth and we are going all out to capitalize on this new fad.”  Redbank is counting on its association with The Situation to further its young, hip and somewhat of a bad boy image in the Arena District.  This move is seen as a natural extension of Redbank’s recent focus on eating properly, avoiding drugs & alcohol and getting plenty of rest.

As to the motives behind A&F’s recent move in the opposite direction, avoiding association with The Situation by paying him not to wear A&F branded clothing, Lane had this to say; “A&F has always had a sweet and innocent approach to their marketing and branding, avoiding the controversial.  I can see why they would choose to eschew The Situation altogether.

I think you can get the same or more marketing mileage by having "The Kozlowski" sport the GBQ Redbank briefs. I hear he works cheap.

Agreed. But the real issue in branding initiatives like this is not; "what can we get for very little money?" Rather it is; "What can we get that is EFFECTIVE?" While the Koz is eminently more qualified than I to sport briefs for the cause, do you think he will compare favorably to The Situation?
